Thank you for your patience during WSCL's tower move

DPR Members,

In the last few weeks, WSCL 89.5 FM has been in the process of moving to a new broadcast tower. We’ve been operating at reduced power using temporary equipment.

We appreciate your patience and each listener who has expressed concern or donated to support DPR during this time.

WSCL will be back up to full broadcast power as soon as we can.

WSCL’s need to vacate its previous tower was unexpected. Despite attempts to avoid moving, WSCL was forced to move immediately. Luckily, another broadcast tower was available about a mile away.

The tower move has been a logistical challenge. New materials such as coaxial cable had to be purchased, tower and moving crews had to be hired, and arrangements with utilities had to be made. Our contracted tower crews are working to complete the process ASAP, weather permitting.

In our fund drives from years past, you may recall us telling you that we sometimes have unexpected expenses and obligations.

Now, more than ever, we need your help. If you'd like to make an additional donation to Delmarva Public Radio, your gift will help us to pay for this unanticipated expense.

Thank you,

Chris Ranck, Programming Director

Anne Young, Development Director
