'Chesapeake Folk' Comes to Delmarva Public Radio

SALISBURY, MD---Local folk music is coming to Delmarva Public Radio (DPR) with the addition of Chesapeake Folk, airing 1 p.m. Saturdays on WSDL 90.7 FM.

Produced by WBYC 107.3 FM in Crisfield, MD, the hour-long show was created in 2016 by Dr. Diana Wagner, associate professor and M.Ed. program director in Salisbury University’s Education Leadership and Graduate Studies Department.

A collector and performer of local and regional music, she also serves as the show’s host and a volunteer program director for WBYC.

“We are happy to bring Diana’s talents to our airwaves,” said Chris Ranck, DPR program manager. “This show is part of our efforts to showcase locally produced programming.”

Chesapeake Folk highlights musicians from the Eastern Shore, as well as folk and blues music from around the world. In addition to its WSDL airings, the show also is featured on WBYC and on WHCP 101.5 FM in Cambridge, MD.

Chris Ranck is Delmarva Public Media's Executive Producer, Program Director and Automation Engineer.
