Randy Farmer-O'Connor

I started my professional career as a special education teacher. After raising my family, I wanted to try something different and landed in commercial radio sales. There is something to be said about media, for me it became a passion. My love of education drove me to “public media” and I have never looked back. Public Media is designed to inform, educate and entertain.

I had a very rewarding 18 years with Maryland Public Television. I began my tenure as an account executive several years later I was promoted to Managing Director, Corporate Support, where I lead a team of sales professionals raising corporate funds for MPT. While in this role I served on many PBS committees and councils. It was a very rewarding career.

In August of 2017 my husband and I moved to Easton, MD. I continued to work for MPT for five years, commuting to the western shore. In the spring of 2024, an opportunity to join Delmarva Public Media became available. I welcomed the opportunity to continue my profession in public media, but a little closer to home. I am doing what I love, meeting people and building relationships to benefit Delmarva Public Media.
