Afghanistan

It's been over a year since the chaotic images of Afghans swamping the Kabul airport as the Taliban closed in on the capital. Mohammad Azim Sarwari escaped with his family amidst the tumult and has now been settled in Salisbury. In this excerpt from an upcoming Delmarva Today host Don Rush talked with him about the ordeal of fleeing his country and his arrival in the United States arranged by the local Asbury United Methodist Church.

Don Rush is the News Director and Senior Producer of News and Public Affairs at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
