The U.S. and U.S. Women's Chess Championships are taking place in St. Louis this week. And, among those doing commentary is Maurice Ashley, the first African American Grandmaster of the game. Delmarva Public Media's Don Rush talked with him about what he sees as the growing interest in the game within the African American community.

Don Rush is the News Director at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
