The 2022 campaigns for Maryland state offices are already underway. With the decision by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot to seek the governorship a number of Democrats have jumped into the race to succeed him. One of those is Bowie Mayor Tim Adams, who if he succeeds, would become the first independently elected African American to win statewide office. Delmarva Public Media's Don Rush talked with the candidate. In segment one he emphasized the role of the Board of Public Works and the issue of inequality.
In segment two, Adams discusses the Eastern Shore urging a look at the state's infrastructure in the wake of the troubles encountered by those in Texas this winter.
