ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A measure in Maryland to redevelop Pimlico Race Course to keep the second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown in Baltimore is scheduled for a hearing before state lawmakers.
The “Racing and Community Development Act of 2020” is set for a hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday.
The measure enables the state to issue up to $375 million in bonds to pay to redevelop Pimlico, which is home to the Preakness Stakes, and the Laurel Park horse racing track in Anne Arundel County.
Pimlico has been home to the Preakness since 1909.
