Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver announced yesterday that he has liver cancer.
The 67-year old said that he was informed of the diagnosis on Friday.
Culver said that the cancer has now covered 70 percent of his liver and will be consulting with doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital later this week to determine treatment.
WBOC reports that Culver says he will continue on the job but will reduce his hours slightly.
He added there is a possibility that he could be out a couple weeks to take care of his treatment.
But Culver declared he has never been a quitter and will not start now.
He added, “I’m going to fight it” and intends to run for re-election.
