The 29th annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge saw a record of over 37-hundred people showed up at Rehoboth Beach despite the rain this weekend.
It was a cool 42 degrees as they plunged into the surf raising over a million for the organization.
That’s the highest in its history.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that since 1992 the Plunge has raised 13-million dollars.
This year’s take will go to year-round sports and training competition for more than 42-hundred children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
