Dorchester County Computers Hacked

Dorchester County authorities say their IT experts are racing to get their computer systems back on line after being hacked.

County Manager Keith Adkins told WBOC that all public safety, tax and personnel data is safe on a separate server.

He added it appears to be a random attack.

The television station reports that there was a ransom demand in Bitcoin.

Meanwhile, the FBI has been brought in to investigate along with state agencies.
