Reducing Restrictions on Medical Marijuana in Delaware

DOVER, De. (AP) -- Delaware lawmakers are considering legislation to reduce restrictions on medical marijuana users.

A House committee was scheduled to consider two medical marijuana bills on Wednesday.

One bill allows qualifying medical marijuana patients and caregivers to grow their own plants, which currently is prohibited.

The bill allows a patient to have up to six mature plants and six immature plants.

The other bill up for discussion revises state law to ensure that a person is not prohibited from possessing or buying a firearm simply because he or she is a medical marijuana user.
