New Pocomoke City Manager Draws Sharp Criticism

Greenboro

Last night’s meeting of the Pocomoke City Council saw an uproar over the new City Manager Jeannette Delude.

There were even calls for her resignation by the local NAACP Chapters as well as the Coalition for Justice for Anton Black.

At issue is her tenure as former Town Manager of Greensboro where 19-year-old Black died after a struggle with a local police officer in 2018.

After the altercation he became unresponsive.

Black’s family partially blame Delude for his death because she oversaw the police department that hired Thomas Webster who was involved in the struggle.

Three years earlier Webster was seen in a video kicking an unarmed man as a Dover police officer.

He was found not guilty for charges related to the incident but later left the department.

Others expressed support for Delude who has promised to do a lot of great things for the town.
