ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A leading Maryland senator on environmental issues says a draft plan from Gov. Larry Hogan's administration to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is truly vague.
Sen. Paul Pinsky criticized the draft plan to reduce emissions by 40 percent in 2030 during a presentation Thursday by the governor's secretary of the environment.
Ben Grumbles, the secretary, says he disagrees with Pinsky's characterization.
Grumbles says he's confident the proposal will reach the goal.
But Pinsky, who chairs a committee that weighs environmental legislation, says he's not confident the plan puts the state on a path to make it.
