Comptroller Revamps Taxpayer Website

If you visit the old Maryland tax website it will be looking a bit different.

The Maryland Comptroller’s office announced that it has been redesigned to make it more user friendly especially for mobile devices such as laps tops and tablets.

This range from the latest technological advances and new compliance features to integrated social media to help navigate the site more easily.

Comptroller Peter Franchot says, “It’s going to be completely reconfigured so that it’s simplified. We’re talking about one or two clicks unlike the old one. You had to follow things down a rabbit hole before you get to, for example, the proper form that you needed.”

The site was developed after consulting individual taxpayers, business filers and tax professionals.

Meanwhile, the comptroller wants to work with users with disabilities and those whose first language may not be English.
