ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A $125,000 grant will support local efforts to prevent youth substance misuse in a Maryland county.
Maryland Sens. Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin made the announcement Thursday.
The funding was awarded through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's Drug Free Communities Program.
The program provides funding to community organizations that facilitate citizen participation in local drug prevention efforts.
The grant will support the Cecil County Drug-Free Communities Coalition's work to implement social marketing and media campaigns and expand peer-to-peer leadership opportunities.
