Blood Bank of Delmarva Runs Low on Supplies

creative commons

The Blood Bank of Delmarva is seeking donors saying that its supplies have never been lower.

Lynda Letts the Mobile Manager for Blood Bank of Delmarva told WBOC that with the Fall the organization is seeing a drop in blood collection.

The Blood Bank cites a number of factors ranging from a drop in the overall donor base and first-time donors to a decline in repeat donors and an increase in demand for blood products.

Letts told the television station that there is a misperception about whether someone is qualified to donate blood such as those with diabetes.

She adds, yes they can donate.
