freepic.com

Delmarva marked the 18th anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks that took 3-thousand lives when two aircraft crashed into the World Trade Center in New York.

In Dover more than 200 people showed up to attend the annual ceremony at the Air Mobility command Museum.

WBOC reports that many were first responders and service personnel who came to honor their comrades who rushed into those burning buildings and the Pentagon.

A wreath was laid next to the 911 monument at the museum.

Meanwhile, in Milton the Volunteer Fire Department and the VFW Broadkiln Post 6984 held a ceremony at the 911 Memorial Park last night.

Retired New York Firefighter Cliff Stabner who was at Ground Zero on 9/11 told WBOC that it was import to remember those who gave their lives to save others during the attacks.

And in Wicomico County the schools set aside time to remember those who died on that day.

The Wicomico High School JROTC led a ceremony to lay a wreath to honor the victims.

Afterward there was a moment of silence to mark the anniversary.
