Authorities have identified 37-year-old Juan Carlos Ojeda Damian and 46-yeark-old Adalberto Gonzalo Perez Perez as the two who died when a boat hit a pier in the Wicomico River.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the Maryland Natural Resources Police say that the agency responded when some passengers in a 20-foot boat fell into the water after the vessel hit an unlit pier.

Three people were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the two died as a result of the accident.

Authorities have determined the vessel was not able to see the pier causing the boat to crash.
