The Maryland State Police will be carrying out sobriety checkpoints this Thursday in Worcester County.

Along with local law enforcement agencies they hope to catch impaired drivers as well as make the public aware of the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Authorities do encourage people who may drink to have a designated driver or use some form of public transportation.
