Ground was broken for a new elementary school for the Magnolia area in the Caesar Rodney School District.
The site is along Briarbush Road and will provide a facility for students in one of the district’s growth zones.
Construction has been delay over the last three years.
Superintendent Kevin Fitzgerald told WBOC that was due to rising costs of construction of the $26 million project.
He said that Delaware lawmakers voted to make up the difference that would now be able to accommodate 600 students instead of just 400.
