Delaware Canine Makes Debut in Tarantino Film

Trailer

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A Delaware actress will make her film debut on Hollywood's silver screen in a role that requires kissing Brad Pitt. But that actress is a 3-year-old pit bull named Sayuri.

The Delaware News Journal reports Sayuri will share the screen, and plant lots of kisses, on Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood" released Thursday. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. Sayuri plays Pitt's dog Brandy.

Monique and Matt Klosowski breed and train pit bulls in Wilmington. They say producers called last spring to use Sayuri for what they assumed was a small project. Then they heard trainers mention "Quentin" on set.

Tarantino himself accepted an award for best canine performance on Sayuri's behalf at Cannes Film Festival.
