The 80-acre old Salisbury Mall has been sold to a Seaford-based real estate broker.
Plans range from residential and commercial space to hospitality and commercial services.
Mayor Jake Day told the Salisbury Daily Times that the old mall has been one of his top priorities after being vacant for more than a decade.
He said that the last time he had talked to the developer about revitalizing the property was about six years ago when Day was on the city council.
But he believes the city has created an attractive environment for economic development.
The property was sold to Crossroads Salisbury LLC.
