Delaware Beach Resorts Make Big Money From Parking Tickets

Delaware beaches pulled in around $670-thousand a year in parking tickets.  

The Wilmington News Journal reports over the last three years Rehoboth Beach issued nearly 58-thousand tickets pulling in $1.9 million in revenue.

The paper found that August was the biggest month for the resort which averages $165-thousand a month in parking permits and parking meter fines during that period.

Lewes issued nearly 20-thousand with revenue of around $430-thousand while Dewey Beach issued over 21-thousand tickets for revenue of $757-thousand over a three year period.

Meanwhile, Bethany Beach issued over 33-thousand tickets for nearly $800-thousand and South Bethany Beach issued just over 900 tickets for revenue of over $32-thousand during same period.
