Minimum Wage Hike Dead in Delaware Legislature

creative commons

Efforts to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour in Delaware appear to be at an end this legislative session.

WBOC reports that the measure is not listed for a hearing with the Senate Finance Committee after getting approval from another legislative panel.

The television station reports that Senate President David McBride also indicated that bill is not likely to come up for a vote this session.

In the previous year Republicans threatened to withhold their support for the capital budget when Democrats made a similar attempt.

The legislation would have cost the state as much as $1.6 million for increases in state worker pay.
