MD Governor Criticizes Pennsylvania Over Bay Pollution Plan

Chesapeake Bay Foundation

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is firing off a letter to the Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf expressing concern over his state’s plan to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.

The follows a report by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation that sharply criticized the Keystone state’s contribution to pollution of the bay.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that it called Pennsylvania “far off track” from the region’s clean water goals.

The paper reports that Pennsylvania responded saying that its plan gives “reasonable assurance” that the state will meet the 2025 requirements.

It said the state had made great strides despite a lack of support from the Foundation and the federal government.
