WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Attorneys are eyeing post-trial motions after a partial verdict in a federal lawsuit against Delaware State University by a former professor arrested during a 2012 protest at the historically black school.
Attorneys plan to submit a briefing schedule by Monday.
The jury last week ruled that Jahi Issa, who is black, failed to show he was discriminated against or subjected to hostile work conditions based on his race. It said he also failed to show that the school retaliated against him for filing an employment discrimination complaint.
The jury also said two former campus police officers did not violate Issa's constitutional rights, but it did not reach a verdict regarding police chief Harry Downes.
Jurors also did not decide claims regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and breach of contract.
