Sussex County Judge Approves Phone Tracking Evidence

A Sussex County Judge has okayed evidence from the use of a cell phone tracking device by police in the trial of 29-year-old Steven Snell.

The Millsboro man has asked that the evidence be suppressed in his trial for the kidnapping and robbery of an elderly couple at their summer home in Rehoboth Beach.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Snell’s defense attorney Robert Robinson questioned the constitutionality of its use.

The tracking device allowed police to arrest Snell around an hour after it had been use and to find a box-cutter like knife and other evidence that linked him to the crime.
