New Wicomico Sheriff Headquarters Funding Delayed a Year

Wicomico County Sheriff Badge

There has been a one year delay to fund the new building for the Wicomico County Sheriff.

But Assistant County Administrator Weston Young told the Salisbury Independent that the county was just awarding the design of the structure.

So, he said, he did not view this as a delay because the money for the new Public Safety Building will not be needed until next year.

The County Sheriff’s Office is set to move from its current location on Naylor Mill Road to a modern $10 million building that will be more spacious.

The money is coming from the county’s Capital Improvement Plan.
