Invasive Turtle Shows Up at Killens Pond State Park

Killen Pond State Park Facebook

A non-native turtle showed up at the Killens Pond State Park last week.

Officials posted the baby red-eared sliders that were discovered in the park.

WBOC reports that the park staff said that the turtles can live to be 30 years of age.

They warned that sometime they are released into the wild by owners who no longer want them.

It is illegal in Delaware for owners to release animals into the wild.
