UD Student Protests Dismissal of Rape Case

change.org

A lone University of Delaware sophomore stood in silent protest on the campus this week.

Her names was Alyvia Pauzer who says she feels dismissed after reporting a sexual assault earlier this year.

She says she organized the demonstration to express a common feeling among those who reported such assaults.

The Wilmington News Journalreports that she says the Delaware Department of Justice dismissed her rape case because they did not believe that they could win.

She says that she was raped in her University dorm room on January 26th after a party by a man she knew.

The News Journal reports that a Justice Department declined to comment on the case but it says it is scheduled to meet with her to explain why it was not moving forward with the case.
