No New Taxes in Salisbury City Budget

Jake Day website

There are no new taxes in the budget for the city of Salisbury.

It’s the third straight year that Mayor Jake Day has kept from raising taxes in his spending plan.

In addition, the Salisbury Daily Times reports that there will be no increase in water or sewer rates.

The city will be adding 12 new firefighters through a grant that will allow the three fire stations to be open 24/7.

Currently only two are open during the day.

In addition, the city is looking to provide mobile health care and will be assessing those people who make the most visits to the emergency rooms.

Day presented his budget outside the new site for the Newton Community Center which is an effort to promote youth programs.
