Voters in the Woodbridge School District are going to the polls.
They will be casting their ballots on a tax referendum that will require the average property owner to pay $70 to $80 more per year.
The measure would fund $950-thousand in the district’s operating budget.
Superintendent Heath Chasanov told WBOC that the district no longer has enough money coming in to pay for the current operations.
The revenue raised, he said, would keep the district from raiding its reserves for such things as teaching materials and salaries.
Polls will close at 8 p.m. at the Woodbridge Middle School in Bridgeville and the Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center in Greenwood.
It’s the first referendum in thirteen years for the district.
