ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The judge in a case against a man accused of killing five people at a Maryland newspaper office has denied a defense request that prosecutors provide more details about the charges, as they consider changing their client's plea to not criminally responsible by reason of insanity.
Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Laura Ripken made the ruling Monday in the case against Jarrod Ramos. He's been charged with first-degree murder and other charges for the June 28 shooting at the Capital Gazette office.
Judge Ripken says prosecutors have provided "significantly more" information than required.
Ramos, with long hair and a beard, attended the brief court hearing. One of his attorneys, William Davis, declined to comment after court. Ramos, of Laurel, Maryland, has until Friday to change his plea.
