The Maryland Board of Public Works is handing out $5 million in grants and loans.

They are aimed at reducing pollution in the state’s water waterways and Chesapeake Bay.

In addition, the money would also go improving drinking water and saving energy.

WBOC reports that the Ironshire Pump Station Energy Reduction project in Worcester County is part of the program.

The town of Snow Hill has gotten just over $58-thousand to replace the well pipes at the sewage pumping station.

Other projects include a water treatment plant in Frederick County and a water extension project in Allegany County.
