Video Shows New Castle Police Punching Teen During Arrest

Wilmington News Journal

A video of an arrest of a teen by New Castle County Police apparently shows the boy being punched in the head.

The Wilmington News Journalreports that authorities are now reviewing the recording.

The paper reports that the officers say the arrest was the result of a drug-dealing investigation in which the 16-year old resembled one of the suspects.

Police say they discovered that someone had posted a recording of the arrest online on Saturday.

The young man was charged after with possession of a controlled substance among other charges after finding – what they said – were numerous bags of marijuana, prescription drugs and drug related paraphernalia.

Coleen Palmer said her son had recorded the video on Friday night and decided to share it with the News Journal on Sunday.
