Ocean City Fire Chief to Retire

The Ocean City Fire Chief Chris Larmore has decided to retire this spring after serving in the position since 2008.

As chief he led both the volunteer and career firefighters during his time in office.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that he did not indicate a specific date for his departure.

He said that he was thankful to the men and women he worked with and the opportunity to serve the community he had made home most of his life.

City Manager Doug Miller praised him saying that Larmore had played a vital rose in successfully merging the fire department and the EMS division.

But he leaves following a vote of no confidence in August by the Board of Directors for the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company.

The paper reports that while the issues were never publicly discussed they included recent morale, trust and scheduling.
