Dorrell Green Gets Nod for Red Clay Superintendent

Delaware Department of Education

The Red Clay School Board has voted to negotiate with Dorrell Green to become the district’s new superintendent.

After last night’s vote Green said that he was honored and humbled by the appointment.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Green was the former director of the Office of Innovation and Improvement for the Delaware Department of Education.

He bested the current deputy superintendent Hugh Broomall who faced off against Green at a Monday night public forum where they were questioned on how they would serve the district.

Green brings 19 years of experience to his job as an elementary school teacher in the Christina School District.

He also served as assistant superintendent in the Brandywine School District.
