Work gets underway today on an intersection that has seen 110 accidents between 2005 and 2015.
The intersection is located at US 9 and SR 5.
Drivers tell WBOC that the problem stems from large trucks turning at the intersection and coming too close to them.
The Delaware Department of Transportation says it is adding turn lanes to the intersection.
The work will also include some drainage and sidewalk work.
The television station reports that the crew will close part of Route 5 between Diamond Farm Road and Harbeson.
