Congressman Andy Harris along with fellow Republican Phil Roe of Tennessee was seen meeting with a Chuck Johnson who has been described as an alt-right figure and Holocaust denier.
The Huffington Post reports that they were seen by their reporter walking with Johnson.
The online website reports that a picture of them was then tweeted out.
Johnson was with Breitbart and has denied the magnitude of the Holocaust expressing doubt about the gas chambers.
The website says that both Harris and Roe issued statements confirming that they had met with Johnson to talk about genetic testing and DNA.
But they added they did not know about Johnson’s history.
Harris said, “Of course, I disavow and condemn white supremacy and anti-Semitism.”
