Sussex Technical High School wants to expand its enrollment 14-hundred.
It’s now capped at just over 12-hundred.
The vocation school will have to go to Delaware lawmakers to get any changes in its enrollment limits which were designed to save money.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that a spokesperson for the district sent an email saying that the district would not have to find additional money in its current budge to cover the increase in enrollment.
The number of available spots for the incoming class is not clear but is expected to come at the 250 number which is less than half of the more than 700 applicants this year.
The paper reports that school officials believe they can make their case given the enrollment growth that neighboring Indian River School District is now facing.
