Government Workers Face Shutdown on Delmarva

With no end in sight for the partial government shutdown many government worker are being effected.

But it’s not clear how many on Delmarva.

In Maryland there are a total of 165 local executive branch employees in Wicomico, Somerset and Worcester counties.

The Salisbury Daily Timesreports that many have been furloughed such as those who work in the Department of the Interior.

The paper reports that there are some 479 government employees in Accomack County that work for NASA at the Wallops Flight Facility.

Another sixty-eight workers are employed in the Department of Agriculture with 61 in the Commerce Department and 47 in the Interior Department.

In Sussex County 212 employees are employed by the executive branch with the largest department being in Agriculture.
