12 Screen Movie Theater in Downtown Salisbury?

creative commons

A 12 screen theater could be coming to downtown Salisbury along with a parking lot.

It would be located at the intersection of Route 13 and Route 50.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Mayor Jake Day said at least three developers have submitted bids for the Lot 10 proposal.

Day said that the movie theater operator had considered several locations but found the city parking lot more to his liking.

The theater would cover up to 50-thousand square feet with at least 300 public parking spaces.

The development could also include things ranging from restaurants and breweries to hotels and apartments.

The Daily Times reports that Day added that the city council could award the project as early as mid-January.
