Breakaway Volunteer Fire Company Loses Local Recognition

creative commons

There was some bad news for the breakaway volunteer fire company from Salisbury.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that on a 9-4 vote the Wicomico County Fire Chiefs Association approved a bylaw change that no longer recognizes that volunteer fire company.

Cory Polidore, the company’s fire chief, told the paper that the vote will have little effect on his unit which is still recognized by both the county and the state firefighters association.

The paper notes that along with Polidore the fire chiefs from Allen, Hebron and Sharptown voted against the bylaw change.
