A new survey once again puts Delaware hospital safety as one of the worst in the country.

The First State wound up tied for 49th place in Leapfrog’s “Hospital Safety Grade” the same as last year.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that none of its hospitals received an A grade and has seen a major decline since the organization began releasing its grades six years ago.

All of the hospitals received a C grade except for Nanticoke Memorial Hospital which did get a B.

Those that received an average grades included Bayhealth Kent General, Beebe Healthcare and Saint Francis Hospital.

That C group also included Christiana Care Health System hospitals in Christiana and Wilmington

The paper notes that several hospitals did not fill out the paperwork because it was too time consuming.

Delaware tied with the District of Columbia and North Dakota.

Leapfrog gives letter grades every six months to some 26-hundred hospitals across the country.
