A Sussex Central High School student was subjected to a Taser by a school resources officer on Monday.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the 17-year old male student was reported to have been involved in a fight with two staff members.

As a result Delaware State Police said that the resource officer used the Taser to subdue him.

The student is described as failing to comply with verbal commands and began hitting, biting and grabbing a hold of the officer’s gun belt.

The student was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The charges are awaiting an evaluation and his release.
