OC Officials Troubled by H2Oi Gathering

H2Oi Facebook page

“Disruptive” and “disappointing”.

Those were the words of one Ocean City official to describe the gathering of car enthusiasts for the unofficial H2Oi event over the weekend.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that there were 26 arrests on Friday and 37 on Saturday.

Most of those were for peace and order crimes.

There were also a few DUI arrests.

The paper reports that by noon on Sunday there were 17 more arrests bringing the total to at least 80 for the weekend.

The resort did enforce a Special Event zone which lowered the speed limit to 30 mph along Coastal Highway and upped the fines for traffic violations like speeding.
