Salisbury Riverwalk Nears Completion

sby parks and recreation

It’s been a while but work crews are putting the last finishing touches on the Salisbury Riverwalk which is expected to be ready for the National Folk Festival.

Some 80-thousand people are expected to descend on the city from September 7th through the 9th.

Mayor Jake Day told the Salisbury Daily Times that the city would be working right up to the last day.

The new construction involves a brick sidewalk along the river near West Market Street and Circle Avenue.

It will also connect a new section behind Acorn Market and Angello’s Unique Gifts.

Meanwhile, the paper reports that next spring a new pedestrian bridge will link the new section at the dead-end street next to Market Street Books on the site of the old Camden Street Bridge.
