No to confederate symbols.

At least two sellers at the Delaware State Fair were asked to stop selling them and to remove them from their inventory.

Danny Aguilar with the Fair told the Wilmington News Journal that venders are prohibited from selling offensive wares adding that the Confederate symbol is one specific example on the event’s list.

The rule was adopted two years ago.

Such items were being sold in booths just inside the gates and ranged from handkerchiefs and T-shirts to belt buckles and blankets.

Officials acted after the News Journal asked event organizers about them.

The paper also reports that Lamar Gunn with the Central Delaware NAACP told the paper that he had begun getting complaints as soon as the fair opened.

He added that he was frustrated that the items were being sold for several days before fair organizers acted.
