Perdue Stadium could be getting a new neighbor.
Developers have offered the Salisbury City Council plans for new Wawa on John Deere Road next to the facility.
WBOC reports that Director of Infrastructure Amanda Pollack said that the city wants to annex 2.5 acres to provide access to water and sewer.
She says that a traffic study would have to be done by the Maryland Department of Transportation before annexation could be granted.
The television station reports that annexation generally takes around six months before construction can begin.
Pollack said that this would be the second commercial annexation that the city council has taken up in the last two weeks and predicts this would increase the town’s revenue.
