Beach Replenishment into August for Delaware Beaches

Don Rush

Even as the summer tourist season is upon us beach replenishment is still going on along the Delaware coast.

But Ed Voigt with the Army Corps of Engineers told the Salisbury Daily Times that the work in Bethan Beach should be finished up by the Fourth of July.

Then, the Corps will turn its attention to South Bethany Beach on July 5th which will take more time because the dunes need to be built up.

That work is expected to be finished by the end of the month.

The Corps is then expected to finish up the $20 million project with work in Fenwick Island during the second week in August.
